Energy Reduction at Scale

Electricity is one of the largest cost components for outlets. Bar Analytics is designed to identify inefficiencies and reduce unnecessary energy consumption without compromising product quality. The saving is proved to the customer through our utility-grade energy monitor.

Energy-focused features

  • Power consumption tracking – Monitor energy usage per chiller, location, or region
  • Idle and overrun detection – Identify chillers running outside expected operating profiles
  • Optimization insights – Highlight opportunities for temperature set-point tuning and operational improvements, including building ice when power prices are low overnight.
  • Benchmarking – Compare performance across similar chiller models or store types

Customers typically use this data to reduce energy waste, lower carbon impact, and support sustainability reporting.

Pre-Emptive Breakdown Detection

Unexpected chiller failures lead to product loss, emergency callouts, and missed sales. The Bar Analytics Chiller Controller continuously analyzes operational signals to detect early signs of failure.

Predictive monitoring includes:

  • Abnormal compressor cycling and runtime patterns
  • Temperature instability and slow recovery times
  • Power anomalies indicating electrical or component issues

By identifying issues early, maintenance teams can intervene before breakdowns occur—reducing downtime and extending asset lifespan.

FAQs

Our Frequently Asked Questions

Here's some of the most frequent questions we get asked by potential customers and where to find extra information.

What are the benefits of using the Bar Analytics system?

Bar Analytics helps businesses turn real-time dispense and equipment data into measurable commercial and operational improvements. The system enables sales teams to better target accounts, analyze the impact of marketing and promotions, improve product quality through tighter temperature and cleaning control, and reduce lost sales by identifying and preventing equipment breakdowns before they occur. The chiller controller also helps reduce customer energy costs.

What is the typical setup on a postmix chiller?

The Bar Analytics Connected Chiller Controller is a smart monitoring device that connects postmix chillers to the Bar Analytics platform. It tracks and controls equipment temperature, energy usage, and operational behaviour to help reduce energy costs and detect early signs of equipment failure. The controller allows for complex algorithms to bring down electricity costs for customers and can create automated alerts for technicians for equipment.

Can the system also monitor dispense volume for postmix?

A flow sensor can optionally be connected to the water inlet of the cooler, giving detailed information on total consumption and periods of heavy use.

Do you make other sensors?

Yes. In addition to flow sensors, Bar Analytics offers connected devices for monitoring temperature or gas pressure.

How long does installation take?

Installation is designed to be fast and non-intrusive, typically taking only a few minutes per sensor and utilising our mobile app. Most devices can be fitted without modifying existing equipment or interrupting normal operations.

How can I view the data?

All data is available in near real time through the Bar Analytics web app, mobile apps for iOS and Android, or via API for integration with internal systems, dashboards, or reporting tools.

Do the products need WiFi?

No. Bar Analytics devices use built-in cellular connectivity, removing the need for on-site Wi-Fi, network configuration, or IT involvement.
