As a leading premium beer business, Asahi UK is committed to delivering a consistent excellent pint at every serve, in every venue.
Across a diverse national distribution base however, maintaining optimal draught quality can be challenging. Variations in drink temperature, inconsistent cleaning routines, and over-tapped venues can all compromise quality. Too many taps often mean slower rate of sale per line, warmer beer, more wastage from line cleaning, and higher operating costs for bar owners—ultimately impacting taste and profitability.
Asahi UK set out to raise quality standards at scale while supporting bar owners to improve sales and reduce unnecessary costs.
Asahi UK partnered with Bar Analytics to deploy a smart, data-driven approach to draught quality management.
To meet Asahi UK’s specific objectives, Bar Analytics developed custom scoring algorithms tailored to the portfolio and On-Trade realities. These scores combine three critical dimensions of draught quality.
Together, these metrics deliver a clear, actionable quality score that then enables a consultative relationship between Asahi UK and the customer.

With live temperature and cleaning insights, Asahi UK Quality Team and bar teams can quickly identify and address issues before they affect the consumer. The result is more consistent draught beer quality across their product portfolio and a better experience for drinkers.
Using rate-of-sale data, as part of a consultative approach with their customers, opportunities were identified and solutions implemented that enabled improvements in draught yield and therefore customer profit , along with rate of sale and beer quality developments , in addition underutilized and inefficient taps that don’t deliver quality products to the consumer were reviewed and addressed.
Better quality drives repeat purchase, while fewer, more efficient, better-performing taps lower operational costs. Bar owners benefit from improved sales, reduced waste, and more efficient cleaning practices—all backed by objective data rather than guesswork.

By combining national scale with granular, tap-level insight, Asahi UK has embedded a culture of continuous quality improvement across its draught estate. Bar Analytics’ custom scoring system provides a shared language for quality—aligning brand standards with bar-level realities.
The partnership demonstrates how data can elevate draught performance: protecting brand reputation, delighting consumers, and delivering tangible commercial benefits for bar owners.
